  • NEWEST & OLDEST FESTIVA

Me & alicia were having a disagreement about who's festiva is newer. It sparked the idea to find out who has the newest & the oldest festiva on here.

Alicia's was built 9/92 according to the door tag
mine was buitl 3/92 according to the door tag

    who's else?

Couldn't we figure it out by the VIN also? Like the last 6 digits?

The build date pretty much says it, yours is older!

I thought freshtiva was 10/92 but I went out and looked at the door jam and it says 02/02/93 :?: Is that possible ? I can post a pic. Hey, thats groundhogs day.

as far as i know (and i was told this by a friend who is a mechanic) the last 6 numbers of your VIN is what number the car is off of the assembly line

          1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
          1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

Thats what I thought. Is that # per year or total?

i'm assuming per year, otherwise it would have to be more than 6 numbers for some cars at least

the last 6 digits of the VIN # is the production sequence # starting with 100,001-599,999 for that year so that would be the tie-breaker if 2 cars happened to be made on the same day (door jamb sticker). the 10th digit in the VIN is the model year so i would think its possible that a 93 could have been actually manufactured in late 92 but still be sold and titled as a 93. all we'd need to know is the 10th digit and the last 6 numbers of your VIN (honor system). mine is P (93) and 132518 (32,518th festy).
