Ok I admit. My first love was for the Geo Metro. Cause my mom had one. I did research at school's computers for bodykits for them and was suprised that Veilside made kits for the Suzuki Swift. The website said after a ton of modifications the car would only do 15 seconds, not that impressive. But still I wanted one to modify. Thats when the Sport Compact Car came out with the Hybrid How to and had references to Cam's car in it. Research and found that no one I knew liked the car. I was hooked. Took a year to find my 88 but $500 and $2 dollars worth of gas and It was home. I wanted to do the B6T swap so I began to look for a FI model. Found #2 11 months later at a Pick-n-Pull in the for sale car section with taillight damage. $400 later it was mine.

I decided I wanted to learn how to work on cars, but I didn't have much money. I was looking at foxbody mustangs and golfs when I stumbled on this site. I figured since there isn't as much information about them it would force me to learn things on my own instead of just copying other people. The festiva isn't nearly as fast as the foxbody would have been, and it would have been much simpler to find parts for the golf, but the festiva is pretty quick in its own right, and is much more unique.OX SMASH!!

we knew a guy who was a trucker, and he parked his festiva while he was on the road... his son would take it when he was gone and get tons of tickets and stuff, and so his dad would bail him out of jail... my dad ofered the guy $300 for the car and they both sorta laughed, about 2 months later the guy was short on cash and he came buy and said he'd take it. i was 15 at the time (couldn't get lerners till i was 16) but the car needed work before it would pass inspection... so that was my project. i got it on the road right before i turned 16, and havn't stopped messing with it since shortly after i got it on the road i started looking online for pics of festivas and stuff.... stubled on this site. have been quite addicted since then!!! lol.~Nate

The timing chain went out in my '67 Mustang Fastback. It was cold and I didn't want to work on it. It got 17mpg and my '66 Mustang Fastback was getting 12mpg with a 351W. I was car pooling with people at work and realy wanted something a little more reliable for the 120 mile round trip each day (for weeks when it was my turn to drive).
Anyway, Ford had just come out with the Festiva and it got 40+ mpg.
Bought it on March 11, 1988.~Jeff

I bought my first one, because my brother was totally in love with the little buggers. When he bought his we realized how rusty it was, and got some practice tearing them apart. Right after I got rid of his, I bought its sister from the same owner, also buying some parts like a new exhaust and the like for it, but then again realizing the body was too far gone (welcome to NY). So that put me to cars down and about 100 bucks total :-)
So I eventually bought my green beast for 500 dollars in good working order, I just had to fix the brakes. Sold that to my brother because I had another car and he needed one, then I got my red one with 200k on it from my uncle for 200 bucks. I put the aspire swap on this (paid to have it done, never will again) got ripped off. Then the steering started to go by about 210k, thats when I got lucky and got the orange shell of Pimptiva, tore apart the red car, got a BP(free) and built what I have now.
I love the little CARS just because they are so unloved by everyone else.
Edited for langauge, you've been warned!

My first one (88lx) was used to drive while I built my Celica after I sold my Hardbody. My buddy lost the keys and we messed up the ignition pretty bad to get it running. Then under the dash caught on fire and I lost all my lighting. We then took it to 2 demolition derby's and won the first one. 2nd place in the 2nd one. I got over 25k miles out of it and it had 280k miles on it.
My second one was purchased beginning of Nov 06' just for a motor swap. Ended up swapping the BPT in it and is planned to be a absolute MONSTER.
My 3rd one I owned for about 2 days after I bought it with a BP swap in it. Sold it last week and is being shipped off on the 29th to Ithaca, NY.
