  • The only current cars that can compare in mileage are the Prius and Smart Fortwo.
Those are tooo dorky and expensive, though.

    • We bought our first Festy because:

[A] My husband loves little cars.

[2] My husband loves little cars that are Fords.

[III] My husband loves little cars that are Fords, and that are orphaned (makes getting parts more "challenging" and "exciting" haha)

[D] My husband loved Fiestas first, but we ran out of those around here, so we had to switch to Festivas!

      [five] Because they are cute!

        • Well I bought my first Festiva about 8 years ago. I was at a towing auction and there was one there that nobody was bidding on so I raised my hand and bought it for $50. Then it all began. I was working on it when another auction came up, there were 2 more. I thought to myself, I can always use parts. So I got another one for $50 and the second for $75. I think someone was catching on to my plans...lol. So I built a 90L Plus, and still had enough to put together an 89L. So I got to good working Festiva's for $175. What a bargin! So from there out these little mechanical wonders have always had a soft spot in my heart. That is why I picked up my current 88L in the Trading Post and started working on another one.

          • I got mine because of how it looks and the rarity of Festivas on the road in Ontario. After driving my mom's 89 Corolla all through high school and university, I decided to get my first car in 2002, the 1991 L that I drive today. All the performance mod possibilities came years after. I find that the more work I put into building it, the more I enjoy driving it.

            • Bought mine to get out of debt, and it worked. Ive been debt free for 1 month as of this post. Bought the car for $350.00, and spent $500 making it road legal. Sold off $14,000 in other cars to pay car debt, and scrimped and saved an aditional $9,000 to pay off the credit card. The festiva has saved me on Parts, Gas, Interest (on cars i didnt own). Its EASILY the best investment i ever made. Also, after finding this website and seeing how rare they are, im glad to have one in such good condition with only 70,000 miles.

              • I used my aspire to help me out of debt. I know i at least broke even just from the fuel. Every week i didn't drive the srt-4 i saved 700+ miles off that car, and 38 vs 24 mpg over thousands and thousands of miles pays dividends. A car payment is just stupid, except to keep the woman happy. Never again!

                  • ^haha, I think that'll be my story once I get my B6T in. You need punctuation tho bro.

I got into festiva's because it was about time I was to get my permit, so I needed a car, well, I wanted something with good gas mileage, but I always wanted a Ford, so I talked my dad and he said about the Festiva. So one day we went to this old farm auction, and then there was one there! I fell in love right away, and begged my dad to get it. Well, he did, we ended up driving it while getting 50mpg, for about 2 months. Until my uncle decided he thought it would be funny to try and "sport" shift without using the clutch. Well he tore the tranny up, and then the tranny was shot. So that one sat for a while, until my dad and I went to this junkyard where they had a tranny for sale, well they ended up having a festiva there as well. The festiva was shot, it had been rolled before, and used as a junkyard run around car. Well, my dad ended up buying a tranny and the red festiva that day, he got really hosed on the red car, but hey, it's another festiva. Then all of a sudden one day the red car wouldn't start anymore, and at that time, I didn't have any knowledge to fix the stuff on my own, so it got parked, and the blue festiva, it still needed the tranny put in. Well, then I got my license, and I needed a car because I was always borrowing my dad's truck, and that got expensive. Well, my dad looked online and found a 95 aspire 4dr, that's when I started driving that for a while. But then I found a 91 white GL on craigslist for $900, I talked my dad into letting us go down and look at it, I brought with $600, and told myself if I can't get him down that much, then I can't have it. Well, my dad did the dealing, and he offered him $500, and right after he made the offer, he took it. So now I had a white GL I was stoked.
