My dad has been wanting a new toy for years now since he finished a kit car with his buddy. It had a tbird 2.3 turbo. He used to have an 85 tbird turbocoupe. Lately he's been talking about getting a fox body mustang convertable. I told him about a neighbor with a turbo coupe for sale, but after all the festivas I've had and all the numbers I've thrown at him he's ready for a bpt and a festiva!! Man I'm psyched. We plan to do 2 side by side in the garage. I have 3 now and we are going to swap 2. I want to try to keep the one stock and try to rack up some miles over the course of the rest of my life. My 74 year old dad is now a festiva junky!!! Wooohoooo!

I had a Turbo coupe T-bird, 20 years ago! It had all the ground effects, lowered. It was nice, I won 2nd or 3rd in the Cleveland Autorama with it! As a matter of fact, I almost bought another one before I got my first Festiva. Just think I almost didn't get a Festiva, I'd have missed out on all this!

He's been grinning when we see an aspire on the road and I say. Look, a brake swap!
We bid on 3 - 68 cougars a while back on ebay. we were outbid though. I'm excited about building the same cars together. The fact that they are festivas is really, really icing on the cake. He's excited about the power to weight ratio. He's had some really cool cars (68 torino GT, 52 mercury, 35 ford coupe) He has a big garage with lots of tools too (welder, milling machine etc etc). I really want him to get a lift though.youtube.com/neanderpaul 88 festiva LX w/BP G25 MR 5 speed waiting for wiring- 93 Festiva GL auto w/ air, waiting for B6t/G4A-HL - 98 Nissan Quest - 02 Mazda protege 5 wife's DD

I bought a 68 Cougar from a friend of mine (20+ years ago), he then bought a '84 Turbo Coupe. He still has the T-Bird but it has a hot 5.0 in it now.
I understand about the Cougar and hope you find one, after you finish the Festiva
I realy liked mine, right up until the topload 4-speed locked up. I sold it back to my friend, he kept it a few years then sold it.~Jeff
1988 Festiva LX Silver 5speed. 219,000 miles. My new daily driver.
1988 Festiva L Plus Red 2brl 4speed. 504,477 miles and holding till I get the speed-o fixed.

I helped a friend out today putting some new windows in his house. Right next door was a nice looking older red cougar not sure what year, but maybe a 68. Looks clean. If I go back Ill knock on the door and get the skinny on it and maybe a picture. Looked original to me.sigpic

It didnt look cheap, not even sure it was for sale. It was sitting out near the road though and you would expect it to be garaged. Ill get to the bottom of it.sigpic

Cool fresh, thanks. I have my dad my newest festiva yesterday. He's already after me to get the details on what donor cars we need. I guess we need 2 brake swaps  and 2 escorts GTs for the bp, harness, computer and trans?? I'll search the swap info here in the swap forums. I'm going to sign him up here probably as carbon'sDad. I don't know how much he'll post. He'll probably have me do most of the research.youtube.com/neanderpaul 88 festiva LX w/BP G25 MR 5 speed waiting for wiring- 93 Festiva GL auto w/ air, waiting for B6t/G4A-HL - 98 Nissan Quest - 02 Mazda protege 5 wife's DD
