  • How much can a Festiva tow?

Just wondering, how much can a festiva tow safely? I was thinking about getting a vintage canned ham trailer, and was wondering if the Festiva could pull a smaller one... I guess it would depend on how much Festivas weigh (which I forget), but do you think it could safely pull 1000 pounds? What would you suggest as a limit (or none at all) in terms of weight? Just wondering...
(And how much do you think that would slow me down?)

Oh, and has anyone had any experience towing something with a Festiva?

Thx, and sorry for any newbie ignorance,
    -Nick

Festivas weigh about 1700lb. You should never tow more than the weight of the tow vehicle. I would think to tow anything you would at least want an Aspire brake swap. Do you have a 5 speed or auto?

As far as towing goes i would worry more about getting it stopped safely than anything else.

i didn't have that much weight to where stopping was an issue, my biggest thing was because my trailer hitch sits so low geting the load distributed to where it wouldn't sway and wouldn't bottom the car out.
