  • Driver Floorboard Footroom

Has anyone had occassion to drive both early and later year Festivas? I have a question about the floorboard space under the brake/clutch/accelorator. See the comparison photo below. Do you see how in the '93 on the left, the floorboard 'pad' has a V 'cutout' at the top? Yet in the '91, the floorboard 'pad' does not have this cutout at all.

Is it my imagination, or do the ones with the 'cutout' have the floorboard angled higher (eg, is the floorboard without the 'cutout' more flat)? Thus, is there more, though perhaps minor, foot-room in the non-cutout ones?

In summary, does a 1988-1991 Festiva have some more driver floorboard footroom than a 1992-1993?

I think my 92 had the V cut floor mat sewed on the carpet......just a simple design change

I really haven't noticed any difference in driver floor room. I' gonna go with FES WES on this one Design change.

I am not sure about any actual specs, but I just went from a 90 to a 93 and it "feels" different in the legroom department. When your 6'4" every inch matters.

I noticed that too, my 91 has a thick pad under the pedals, the 93 doesn't. The only difference I noticed is that my feet sit a little lower on the pedals on the 93 and it takes a couple minutes to get used to.

it was actually an option i noticed on my last car when i switched from an 88 to a 92. its called a footrest according to the factory, and i sorta like it, gives me a precise spot to keep my heel at while i drive instead of it just flopping around down there
