Anyone ever Dyno'ed a bone stock B3?

Would love to see a Dyno "before" sheet from a stocker, even a tired old 150K+ miler


What is advertised crank horse on the old carbed B3? 63 or something?

You guys think it actually puts more than 50 to the "wheel"


Just curious if anyone ever actually put one on a dyno

on a well maintained motor i think about 54-55 would be realistic guess.

from the factory they say 68hp which I would venture to guess is to the crank so about 55 hp to the wheels would be very acurate give or take the mileage and wear and tear on the engine and other critical components.

also you would be surprised what a good tune up will do for your numbers (filters, oil, etc) one of my friends replaced his grounding straps with thicker amplifier wire to his engine and firewall and such and claims a +3 torque and +2 hp gain, lots of little things can all add up.

Yeah, but then again, I found by searching that Safety guy got only 48, with a B6 swap (still using the b3 ECU) SO.... Dyno results vary wildly.. with operator, type of dyno, conditions of test, motor, dyno, etc....

I was just wondering if some ACTUALLY had a stock dyno sheet... I bet it isn't as high as you'd think. Safety guy says he felt a big seat of the pants difference, but was still only showing 48 on the Dyno, with the swap..


The guy I bought mine from had a dyno sheet, I can't seem to find it anymore.. it was a scan.. it showed my NA SOHC B6 pulled 78-79 horse, and close to 90 pounds/feet of torque. Somewhere around 100 to the crank, a bit less I guess, corrected.


Just wondering if anyone had any actual dyno sheets on "before" "after" swap.

Yeah I am a firm believer of them, I am going to be doing a write up with whats needed and where they should be connected to with pics when I get around to it, whatever you do pm me before you splurge on one of the preassembled kits that sells for lots of money and I will let you know what to get from your local car audio store to complete your kit for half the price.

you see that power curve, that is why these things kinda learch when you accelerate

^^ but at the time of the dyno the engine was 9yrs old.. so how accurate is that?

I know for a fact my B6-e swapped festiva dynos for more than 48hp at the wheels......guaranteed.
