They're powdered metal....and that's why they're so cheap. If you're not hard on them you should have no problems.

Sounds like you had trouble gettig it into gear and tried to force it with a lot of pressure, powdered metal can't handle these kinds of loads and they will fail.

the sad thing is i didnt even push it hard... its trully sad. Thats trully unsafe of a product to be selling if they are going to break so easily...

Stop complaining Wes, your always trying to start crap :-) Mine has been in since lasat march, and I drove it pretty hard, and as far as I can tell mine has held up. Im sure it is crap pot metal too, but you get what you pay for and I am one to believe that. I spent 8 dollars total on it, and when it brakes I will buy another one probably :-) If it every brakes.

quick shifts can also be made lightly Mine I think is machined and alumiun. I shift quick but light. fwd trans scare me.

That SUCKS! I just bought and received the same shifter and now I am afraid to install it. I was so looking forward to the short throw shifter too after all the glowing comments about this $10 mod. Maybe I will "Stress Test" the shifter in a bench vise before I proceed......
