  • picking up a festiva....

Ok so i'm cruising around ebay looking for a festiva. And I happen to find one in Ryan Iowa. the problem is. I live in Henderson kentucky.

I've messaged the guy that has it. might be able to get it. I really like it.

    but here's the thing.

    Mapquest says

Total Est. Time: 8 hours, 45 minutes

    Total Est. Distance: 509.98 miles

And I dunno how to go get the car. I could drive up there. wouldnt be any big deal to me. I would love to own the car.

but I cant just leave my car there. lol Especially since my sister will need to be driving it soon.

I had thought about flying, but I think that woudl cost too much money.

    Anybody have any ideas?

There is a local guy saying i could borrow a tow dolly. now I just need something to hook it too. or a full size truck. maybe i could fit the festiva in the bed.

The shippers should have insurance. That's a factor to consider. $500 is a deal for shipping. You could also get a bus, train etc. You could also have a friend ride out there with you. Then you both drive back. The biggest thing to think about is the total cost of the move adding to the price of your car. If it's a $35,000 car with $500 shipping that's one thing. If it's a $500 car with $500 shipping that's a different story.

I took the greyhound from Houston to Phoenix and drove the car back. I hate the bus though.

I'm in Louisville, KY. If your in a real pinch I might be able to ride along and drive back. Just make sure the car is in good enough condition to make it back

I'm not gonna even mess with this car. I've decided its not worth it to try and go that far for the car. i'll just find something local hopefully.

I bought an Merkur XR4Ti in Maine off of eBay. I took a Greyhound bus from Bowling Green Kentucky to Maine, and drove my new car home. The ticket was $90.00. Theres no way you can fuel even one car for that cheap.--Jeremie

I wish I could go that route. it would be pretty awesome. but too many variables at this point. I"m just gonna look for something cheep. A neon, or something maybe.

Something wtih a 5-speed and potential for about $1000

I've posted this a couple times, but there is a dark grey automatic Festiva in my town for $400.00, and it needs a fuel pump. I'm not very far from you at all.--Jeremie
