  • Bowling Green Auto Salvage Yards Can Explode!!

I have to say that Bowling Green Kentucky has the lamest salvage yards in the world. Nothing but a bunch of redneck buttheads! For some reasons they never have any parts, they can't help, they don't know where to find it, there computers aren't working at the moment, they don't know how to use the computers when they are working, excuses, excuses, excuses. How do they stay in buisness?? Why does everyone else have "pick and pull" salvage yards with millions of Festivas in them?

Maybe it's the area you live in,probably not a lot of festivas sold where you are.

I swear the pull a parts here would rather just sell the cars for scrap than actually sell any parts off them. They regularly break mirrors and windows, smash in doors, leave the car sitting open in the rain so the interior is ruined, and set them very precariously on the stands so the whole car comes crashing down while you're trying to unbolt something.

Its kind of a weird thing. They take in automobiles for free or close to nothing and then profit off of them yet I havent met one happy person who owns a junkyard.

fresh festiva!! Wasnt one of mine.

There are no PNPs around here with a festiva in it that I know of. Thats why I bought my own private parts car. I found an other one about 16 miles from here. They are asking $250 OBO for it. It is running. MIght be able to sneak it home.

well there are alot of festiva in the BG area also in the somerset area all through that area, i know i have see about a million and i live in london kentucky and in lexington kentucky and go to school in somerset kentucky, but i agree they dont really want to sell any parts they just want to crush the cars and make scarp money. from what i know they get between 100 and 300 a ton around here some more. so the way they see it get as many cars as you can take about 100 to the crusher, on average 1.5 tons per car some more some less. and since they get cars about every day or so, they see big proffits. 1.5 tons times 100 = 150 tons times we will say 200 since its in the middle and that equals 30k a year only if they crush 100 a yr and im sure some do alot more than that, plus what ever some one can manage to buy when they will sell parts. if my math is wrong sorry guys its been a long day and junk yards have pissed me off lately, i wont even get into it but ill say this. the par i want new cost 65 bucks they guy at the junk yard wants 70 for it, i tell him i can get it new for 65 he just gets pissy and says well id do that then, even though before i went to get the part he told me 30 bucks when i get there its 70 wtf? even after i told him he quoted me 30................... im going to end this before i get pissed again...lol

I wish we had enthusiastic junk yards like that around my way.

Its a 7 hour drive for me. I might drive there on "wheel barrel day", and load the hatch down. I'd rather drive there, and get what I need than deal with the salvage yards around here.--Jeremie

www.pullapart.com - Lousiville location. 4 Festivas last time I checked. I bought a complete Aspire brake swap for less than $100 from them a couple of weeks ago.

It's a long drive, but they likely have what you want, you can check stock online, the prices are set in stone and reasonable, the yard is clean and easy to navigate, they have free wheelbarrow and a place to wash your hands on the way out and a truck that patrols the yard to haul the heavy parts for you.

Can't beat it- even if it is a drive.
