  • looking at another festy to buy......

there is a nice festy up the street from me , been looking at it for awhile. it looked like a 89 LX 5 speed, brown interior with split folding rear seats and even still has its hatch cover!!!

but today i finally got the key to it and the first thing i saw was the production date: 5/87

    AAAAARRRRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
THIS MEANS IT IS A 5 SPEED CARB'D!!
    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

i hate F*#@$%^&$#&%$#@$%^*&#^$%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CARBS WITH A PASSION!!!!!!!!!! THEY ARE AS OLD AS THE DINOSAURS AND NASCAR (WHICHEVER CAME FIRST?)

ok, so i have 2 complete fuel injected motors, 2 wiring harnesses, 2 computers and everything else i need to make it a real festiva. just don't have the time at this moment.

but , i do have a friend that will sell me a brand new carb , still in the box and brand new distributor assembly, if i wanted to go that route instead.

the kid wants $500 for it , i should be able to get it for $350 to $400 tops, it has 149,000 on the clock, couldn't get it to start, i was late for work.

just not sure what to do, forget it? buy it and convert it? or just give a major overhaul and keep it as a commuter car or sell it ?????

I got gas there when I picked up my silver one. Was just after the remnants of that last hurrican....terrible day to drive from Ohio and look at a car and then drive back that same night not knowing anything about it.....lol.

Buy it now, then figure out what to do with it. Once its yours you can do whatever you want @ your leisure when it strikes you.
