Buying a car in Canada

Does anyone know what it involves buying a car from Canada and bringing it to the US? Is there fee's, inspections? Taxes?

I was thinking once before to import 1988 Suzuki Forsa turbo (aka Chevy Sprint) from Canada and I dropped it, because it would have been difficult to meet US customs...but hey worth try it if you are looking something special car from Canada and I suggest you read it and try call them the EPA or US Customs dept?:

88 and 89 festiva maybe since the US and canadian versions shared the same seat belt system. The 90-93 canadian ones didn't have the auto belts so you may have to bring them up to the us standards of that model year. For a car 25 years or older it's real easy. Just a form to fill out and customs taxes to pay at the border.

I figured it would be hard. I was looking at the 2 for 1 Festiva's on Ebay.

I guess Ford Festiva from Canada would be fine and I don't see any inadmissible on list.
