  • Speed at RPM

I just installed an aftermarket tach and I'm wondering if it's reading correctly. I have a '91 1.3L SOHC 5-speed with 155R12s tires, all stock.
At 75mph the tach reads 3000rpm in 5th gear.
    Is that about right?
    Thanks!

Thanks a lot! BTW, what's the recommended shift point and/or redline?

My tach reads about 3000rpm at 75mph. The redline on my factory tach is 6000rpm but Ive never redlined it. Not sure it would. It would be wound pretty tight.

LOL! Thanks guys. 4g sounds, ahem, rather tight, and considering I'm getting close to 190k miles on the clock, I'll cool it..Hijacking my own post..I bought a loaded with all options, pristine XR2 complete with optional factory mags for $600..the hose clamp was loose on the turbo to throttle body so it didn't drive too well (and he'd just put over $600 into it trying to fix this problem). Would you sacrifice this very nice car for a build-up with a sideswiped Festiva?
