I must've been a real a$$hole in a past life, because things just don't get any easier.
I got word last week about a good engine available for sale. I contacted the seller, and arranged to pick it up, about 1.5 hours north of here. The only catch, it would still be in the car. Everything would be detached, but it's in there. No big deal, I get a friend with a truck, borrow an engine hoist, and make a day of it.
Well, we get up there, and the car's sitting on many inches of medium pack snow. Not very engine hoist friendly. On top of that, it's not ready to come out of the car. The CVs are still attached, and some other stuff is still hooked up. This wouldn't have been an issue if it weren't for the aforementioned snow problem.
Don't get me wrong, I've pulled engines out in some pretty crappy conditions before, but when you arrive at an abandoned acreage, with no other materials other than what you thought you'd need on hand, there's not a lot you can do.
Anyway, it's too bad. It's a solid little 1.6, with no ridge in the cylinders, and it was only $75. (I spend $70 on fuel and lunch anyway)
So, whoever is up there meting out punishment for transgressions in past lives...KNOCK IT OFF!!! I've paid in friggin' full!
