        It has a limiter? My 91 and 93 get valve float before they hit any fuel cut.

            if you mash it and hold it a bit the revs jump back and fourth a few hundred RPM, i always assumed it was fuel cut-out? i've never hit this while driving... lol.

            i belive its around 6200 rpm that the fuel cut-out cuts in ( :lol: )

              I banged the rev limiter during a horsepower run with my Gtech in my 1990 L plus right at 6200 in 3rd.
              There was this loud pssst and the revs dropped by a few hundred. It was by far the most violent rev limiter
              I have ever encountered, I honestly thought i had just blown right through my head gasket. All in all
              I would prefer not to do that again. My shift point in AutoX is 5800 from 1st to 2nd I don't shift again till its over.

              Also if i get on the freeway and just floor it i top out 4th at 5000 with my 175/50 r13 tires (about 2 inches smaller
              than stock overall diameter) it just sits there and hovers right around 5000 i think this is right around 86 mph
              which i remember hearing (or reading) somewhere is the speed limiter. Then again i rewired the whole car from
              scratch and found nothing resembling a speed sensing system, there are no more wires going to the tranny not
              even the clutch/starter safety switch and any wire not controlling fuel or ignition was left disconnected from the ECU.

              In conclusion i believe there is a 6200 rpm rev limit but the engine sounds like its going to explode anywhere above
              5500-5600 and i think I am just hitting an aerodynamic wall due to my EXP body kit and low front lip at around
              85-90 mph. I will do a drag run with the gtech i run it all the way out (although i think the gtech only records about
              20 secs of a drag run a it might take longer to get to top speed) and post the speed it records.
              Nothing says "triumph of enthusiasm over physics" like a Front Wheel Drive race car.

                In g-tech you launch at 2k shift out of 1st at 4k, out of 2nd at 4k and take it all the way up on 3rd and 4th...this gives the most accurate reading.....that's by reading the book that came with mine.

                  You put your weight value in at 1050lbs on the g-tech??

                  6250 is the redline...so thats when it would cut off fuel to the engine....but the hp/tq numbers fall flat after 4800 rpm

                  Your wheel/tire combo is 1.58... 1 1/2 of an inch smaller than stock

                  155x.8 =124.0 divided by 25.4=(4.88x2)+12 inch rim.....stock

                  175x.5 =78.50 divided by 25.4=(3.09x2)+13 inch rim.....HTR's

                  I wonder how much it throws off the speedo??

                      The rev limiter cuts the ignition not fuel,its controled by the computer.

                          If your ignition is factory computer controled then you will have a rev limiter.

                          Top speed may also be limited by computer.
