  • Picked up the donor car...

Heya. I bought the donor car for the Festiva tonight. It's an 87 Mazda 323 that's in VERY good condition. It almost seems a shame to tear it apart for the project, but I've got to keep my eyes on the prize.

It's got 134,000kms on the clock (83000 miles!) due to it being owned by A) and older woman, and B) the tranny is pooched.

I've never seen a 323 with so many options, yet lacking power steering. It's got every extra light, switch, button, dial, alloys and a sunroof.

I'd link you to a pic, but the ad got pulled already.

I'm looking forward to tearing into it this weekend.

Some of those options might be able to be used on a Festiva. Like the hatch light.

don't forget to swap the intermittent wiper stalk if its got that... a lot of older 323 and 626 parts will fit a festy. You might even be able to get the power mirrors to work, I never tried hard but I test fitted some at the jy and they looked like it'd be do-able
      No festiva for me ATM...

It's got the variable intermittent switch in it, but I don't believe I can use it. It's the orange one, and it lacks the extra white connector later models used.

Does the orange one have cruise on the wiper switch? If it does and you don't use it, I would buy it!

Sounds good. I'll have to see which wiring it's got when I tear into the car.
