  • It's Been a Good Weekend.

Well, got the 323 donor (victim) in the garage and tore it apart. Sorry I don't have any photos of that, but I was real greasy. If I had taken photos with those greasy hands, using the wife's camera...I'd be a dead man. The whole time I was working to extract the engine, my friend Al was driving me nuts be disassembling the entire front end of the car. He was having a good time, but got a little down because I wouldn't let him anywhere near the car with the plasma cutter.

What I do have is some photos of what I kept out of the car, and I just had to throw in a picture of my toolbox....

Okay, the pic links died for some reason. Here's a link to the photo page...

Yup. Gaining about 20-25hp, depending on who you ask. One way or the other, in a 1700lb car, that's enough to make a difference.

Nice. A/C pulley too. How did you get the exhaust out in one piece.? Your tool box is beautiful.

The exhaust was just hanging there, so I cut the hangers. They were only rubber anyhow.

Thanks about the toolbox. I inherited those from my father. He was a heavy duty mechanic/millwright/gasfitter/machinist/electrician/etc. He bought those toolboxes when he moved from the UK to Canada in 1965. I don't feel too bad about painting them, seeing as the stickers that were on there had layered up and killed the paint. Besides, they're mine now and need to be "personalized."
