Ive had an old cargo cover so long I forgot where it came from. It was in pretty rough shape. Ive been meaning to rebuild it but every time I looked at it, it looked like it would be a pita. Well I was right, it was a pita. Seems pretty straight forward but was harder then I expected. I think it turned out good. The fabric was all there but it looked like something had been gnawing on the wood. I still need to shampoo the material and glue a few spots down but I finally got it out of the corner and did something with it.

Thank you! I used mahogany underlayment for the wood. I still need one of the original cords that pull the cover up when the hatch in opened. I only had one. Also one of my hatch clips has a small piece broken off of it. It still holds the cover OK but I know how I can repair it so I will. It would have been a lot easier to buy one off ebay for $75.sigpic

Because of all the two dozen bend over tabs on the rear stiffener that run through the wood I used the old board as a template and some black spray paint to mark the slots. That also help line up hinge bolt holes and draw cord placement. That rear bracing keeps the trailing edge up so it will fit into the hatch clips. I made a pattern of the wood before I installed it, for later use.

Lilred, just climb in your back seat when the hatch is closed and measure from the holes to the hatch studs. Cord should be cheap enough so if your first attempt doesn't work right, you can do another!
