man, i have to say, my festiva is superior to most trucks in the snow, there was a freak storm this morning and things got bad, cars and trucks off the road, traffic moving at walking pace............except for the ol festy, just plowing through it like nothin, I actually got a funny look from a guy in an SUV, as he struggled for control of his superior machine, he looked over and his jaw dropped as I pass him with ease on the shoulder while sipping my coffee and listening to some beats, all the while the ol beater just mocking the conditions like it was on rails

YEAH!!!!! show those suvs! we hardly ever get snow here, but the few times it has, the only cars we had that would go through it was the festys.we had a van one time got stuck. the festy in the same place pulled right out. LONG LIVE THE FESTIVA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
89 L, hopefully returning from the dead soon with a little more power...

ya, people always say that to me too, there like " oh, you'll have to watch it driving home in that little car" like it was dangerous, :? I use to drive a 98 blazer with 4WD and I would rather the festiva, the skinny tires (as long as there snow tires) dig down deep and the car's light weight make it easy for it to go through deep snow, even dragging the chassis through the drifts long after other cars got stuck, and maintaining stability at higher speeds due to the skinny tires acting more as rudders keeping the car straight

I was on a 3 hour drive home with my band after a show, and there was a blizzard. On that trip I counted 48 cars in the ditch. 47 of them were 4WD SUVs. I win!

A lot of it is the driver and having a good vehicle with skinny tires helps. I had a ton of fun in my f150 in both snowstorms this past winter pulling out gm products and busting drifts that came over the hood. Nothin like a 5spd manual with 4wd and the good old 300 6 popper.
