  • street sleepers

    looking at festiva of the month and the term "street sleeper " and what is eveyones definition of a street sleeper. mine is a car that looks plain but packs alot of punch. example my old 73 chevelle with a damaged driverside rear fender and regular rims but under the hood it had a 350 with a double angle cut valves and a fireball crane cam, shift kit, advanced weights in distibuter and other things i forgot.

    That's pretty much my definition too. Looks slow, but isn't. I'd have a hard time putting any chevelle in a sleeper category though. A k car, a 70's subaru, an old style beetle, a chevy luv, a metro, a grenada, a pinto. All those if made fast would be a sleeper in my book.

        ^^Fox-bodied Fords go pretty good, huh?

        I had a good sleeper back in the 80's. A 1980 Buick Regal Limited. Loaded. Looked like a pimp-mobile. Had a 350 Buick in it (Yes, it was all Buick). Went really, really good.

                    i think 25horsplay is correct. the 73 to 74 chevelle was not like the ones in prior years they were more of a luxury type than a sporty model.

                      sleeper = anything that isn't a sports car, minus bling-bling, plus zoom-zoom...

                      sorry, lol, I was reading this thread in class and the same girl that made the other zoom-zoom comment a while back said that and I just had to post it... if her boyfriend wasn't bigger than me I'd be trying to date her right now :lol:
                      No festiva for me ATM...

                        There is a guy in chicago who races his yugo. Pretty fast I hear. He got mad when I said my festiva could beat it. Then he said well lets see your festiva do a 12sec 1/4 like my yugo. :roll: I'm working on that slowly.
