  • My car looks like it's had an anal probe! Now with pictures!

As promised, here are some photos...

Here, you can see where the VW bucket is spot welded to the Festiva backing plate. You can use screws as well, but I was in the garage, and there was a welder, so....

    AARRGGHH! Something's missing!

Did I mention I got new tires? Falken Ziex 512. 175/60R13

I suppose now I'll need to get onto making the headlight covers. Ian (Fastivaca) was good enough to supply me with a set of Jetta headlight covers that I can hack up for the purpose.

I also like the 323 wheels! The Festiva alloy center caps work in those wheels!

I can't take credit for the fabrication. Ian gave me the set-up when he decided to go with a different headlight. The only change I made was the spot welding.

                I love round headlights.

Wish I still had my Cibie Z Beams. Got 'em for my '76 Chevette around 1981 or so, and then swapped them onto my '81 Civic, which I sold later on. My #$%^&* '85 Civic "S" had the stupid rectangular headlights, so the Z Beams went with my beloved '81.

How hard was it to change the wiring? How much Fab was there? I am wondering if a novice could do it. What year did the donor parts come from (did I miss that?)? Thanks, Breedlove

Where did you get them, been looking for a month!
                          Falken has discontinued them.
I called Falken direct and checked their inventory as well as 4 of their largest distributers, No joy!
Packrat427 and 25horseplay will attest I need them badly.

Yes, the Ford center caps from the festiva alloys will fit both the front and back center caps on your Mazda alloys.
                          Only needs a slight modification!

Definatly needs some sort of covers. I think the corner lights need changed too... Not sure to what, but something "different"...

                              Good start though!
