it "could" fit, but you'd be hacking the frame a good bit, and you can get similar power gains by using the 1.8L 16valve DOHC motor from a 91-96 Escort GT. Bolts right up to the stock transmission and needs only a passenger side engine mount. Rewiring is minimal (only about 4 wires to mess with). Check the "BP Swap" sticky at the top of the N/A forum for more detailsNo festiva for me ATM...

The basics of "hotrodding" a festiva are as follows
Engine Swap: your choices are the 1.6 SOHC ( 323 ) easy and a bolt in swap 1.6 DOCH turbo ( 323 and mecury xr-2 ) requires passenger side mount and wiring, pluming ect as just mentioned BP 1.8L both the SOCH and DOHC engines...wiring pasenger side mount and last but not least BPT 1.8L DOCH turbo......has to be shipped from overseas......not a swap for beginners.....everything has to be custom fabbed....
Brake swap: once you have all that power you will need to stop!
You can swap the brake system from any year of ford aspire into your festy...... there are how to's on this site
There is an endless list of things that can be done but that is a good start......look around the site and you will find all kinds of info!
Where are you located....I will have an aspire brake swap avalible soon!
Boy i'd love to know how many festiva's are out there with engine swaps......it seems everyone is doing it now....... :twisted:Previous owner of 8 festivas... looking for number 9

ok are you ready my dad owns a scrap yard! the mother of all jackpots!! i have the brakes already and as much as you can tell me I VERY MUCH APPRECIATE IT !! I LIVE IN SAULT STE MARIE ONTARIO CANADA and as far as i know nobody has a pimped out festiva. i would like to get as many cubes as possible because there is no replacement for displacement! thanks for the info already

um yea, on a festiva, cubes are easily displaced by the limited number of tires that will fit under a festiva. and the fact they weigh alot less n a ton. ive got the stock 12s on mine and on the twisties its faster than my subaru. once i get the b6e in there with the aspire swap an some 14s...well, i think ill have my own personal rollercoaster ride.is not sposed ta do that...
05 subaru legacy gt
1991 nissan nx2000(almost awesome as a festiva, my first failed mtx)
1988(?) festiva LX 5spd (rescued from crusher, aspire swap done, working on turbocharging the 1.3...)
