I read about the Charger shortage in Car Craft Magazine back in the early 80s. I think the article said they were trashing around 6 cars per episode, and kept slapping them back together until they were no longer usable.
Back then I was driving a 74 Chevelle, and a 73 Celica for a winter beater.
