  • DJ's BP Festiva & My Trip to Texas

Well, I don't know that everyone saw the other posts... So here's this one...

When I heard that Mamabear was going to be selling the extra Festivas that DJ had, I knew that I wanted one of them... When I saw that it was a white BP Festiva, I jumped on it...

My trip started yesterday. We left Harrisburg International Airport yesterday AM around 6... Hit Chicago shortly after 7. Arrived in Houston at 10:30 and I was off in my UHaul...

Met Inga and Dustin (I believe it was Dustin), along with another good family friend. Got the check out the car I was taking... Got to look at Techno.

Guys - this whole experience has been great. Techno looked AMAZING. It's something you truly need to see in person to understand the amount of time and effort that's gone into it. It was AMAZING.

Getting to meet the family was nice too. Being friends with DJ for a long number of years from the boards...

Well - we got the car loaded up:

And we're on our way back now. I'm in Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City with a friend of mine from HS. He's going back to PA and we're going to caravan it back incase something would happen.

More to come when I'm back in PA.

It's going to be treated VERY nicely. I've got a few concerns about the car (it doesn't have a heater core), so I'm debating what I want to do in that regard... I have one I can put in... But do I need it if it's going to be a show and go car? Probably not... So, I'm still decidig what I want to do with that part...

I'm excited to just get it home and clean out the stuff that was inside of it (spare dash, some extra dash pieces and what not)... Overall - well worth the trip here and the $$ it's costing to get a UHaul back to PA, lol

Im glad that you are going to be getting this car, just so we know it isn't going to get parted out, or sold to someone that is going to abuse it. I look forward to comming down to PA and cruising with you sometime, I think next summer we should make plans for Carsile together, both jeeps, and the festiva's in tow :-)

Thanks! I'm sure I'll abuse it a bit, but it'll be the type of abuse it was meant to take.

Bodykit and wheels will be here this afternoon when Matt (88GTR) gets into the area.

Glad it's going to a good home.

I've seen and driven all DJ's cars except for this one, and the amount of time and effort he put into them is amazing.

Simon, do you think you will be home tomarrow? or atleast in PA tomarrow?

I am heading home around noon tomarrow and stopping at marshalls creek, pa to get my ecu re-mapped. If you are in PA in the morning, let me know we can meet up, i would like to see the bp.

Every car I have owned has had a turbo in it, until I bought this latest festiva.. I plan to fix that though.

It's good it's going to a good home.

Now Simon, you've had one show car, now you need one go car.

w00t - Just got home from the trip... Can't wait to tear into this car over the weekend to see what's up. Car will crank, but doesn't start. almost seems like it's not getting gas? Anyone with the BP swap who wants to help troubleshoot, please PM me.
