Well, I'm just killing time now, until I get the Aspire bits for the brake swap, so tonight in the garage was all about tuning. Now, here's the weird thing. I put in the B6 a few weeks back, and it's been idling high. I realized this was due at least in part to the B3 VAF I was using. So I went out today and picked up a B6 VAF. Now everything is B6; engine, ecu, vaf, injectors...all of it, but it still warmed idled at 1300 rpm.
I broke out the books, messed with the timing a bit and adjusted the idle bleed screw...by three turns down!!!
Question is, why did an engine that ran fine before, with all the same stuff hooked up to it, develop a high idle problem when installed in another car?
It's just another mystery of mechanics.
Oh yeah, and I installed the power mirrors I picked up on the weekend. After installing them I realized how pointless it was, seeing as the car's real small anyway, and once the mirrors are adjusted, why would you need to adjust them again anyway?
