I've noticed more on the roads as the gas prices climb. I see about 5 on an average day, up to 20 on a really good one!

I was talking to a fellow Festiva owner at a gas station and found out that his Festy had sat in his back yard for 5 years with a blown engine. When gas prices started to rise, he replaced the engine and decided to resurrect his car!

Twenty on a good day? The place is infested with them. I haven't seen five this year. I guess I need to get out more.

The Northwest is where all the old cars are.

I've seen everything from the original Minis to 1940s farm trucks to the old Honda CVCC rolling around here.

              And Festivas are plentiful.

Average commute to and from work, I can usually see between 5 and 10 different Festies.

Very true, I've definitely seen more Festies and Aspires in the last couple of months.

I think the amount of Festivas is proportionate to the economy of an area.

I lived in an upper middle class area of Houston and knew of only 2 other Festivas in my area. Most of the cars were from 2000 or newer.

However Spokane is a relatively poor, blue collar town and there are tons of Festivas and other old cars on the road.

Last weekend I was up in Williamsport with a friend... We went out to get some gas, get a weight on the Festiva and hit the booze store and along the way, we hit a redlight when a decent looking red 89 L pulled up next to me... A heavy set guy looks over, I yelled out the window "FESTIVA!!!!" and he was like "What year is that thing?!", I replied back with a "92" and he said, "89 here!" - Light turned green and off I went.

                        Pretty cool though.
