  • Pleasantly surprised with my MPG EDIT FOR UPDATE... YEAH!!!

Specs on my Car Domain, but basically, it was built as a SCCA SOLO II car.. Holley 2bbl, ported intake, JDM carbed version(SOHC), Genie header 2.25 exhaust to flowmaster.. and only a 4 speed..

Since the gas crunch, and due to the fact that no-one wanted to buy it for what I wanted to sell it for... I decided to start daily driving it..

SO.... I wanted to get an idea on gas mileage.

It's REALLY hard for me to drive it slow, but after the better part of a tank of gas, town and freeway (70-75 on the freeway, 4 speed tranny only)

I was very surprised that it ticked out OVER 30 mpg.. that is with several 100mph bursts, a few burnouts, and just general not driving for mileage... bonus!! Averaged out over about 225 miles

I wish I could drive a whole tank out at 50mph, because that thing is barely even breathing at 50mph..

Wonder what I would get with a 5 speed???

anyway... very happy with my " new" daily driver.... and I was the one that said it wasn't a good daily driver? I guess I am just silly...

Boy howdy... I am happy as a, well.......... I am happy.

I did another 225 miles and it only took 6.3 gallons to fill it back up!!

Over 35 mpg, and that is NOT taking it easy... 70-75 (in 4th remember)on the freeway, only two burnouts, and no 100mph runs.... LOL...

I am happy as a clam, and I guess I won't be trying to sell this Festy anytime soon....

Wonder how much better it would be with a 5 speed?

It IS a direct bolt in, right??

      Yeah!

I believe the 4 to5 is a direct bolt in...

And I know how you're feeling... I drove the BP around last weekend and I'll be taking it out this weekend (as long as it passes inspection as-is) - I was averaging somewhere between 33 and 35 with mine, which is perfect! My Wrangler pulls in 15 on a good day. Blah!

Yeah, I hear ya, my F-150 does about the same, or worse, around town.... double blah...

I just never dreamed this B6, set up the way the guy did it, would do over 35mpg... At least the way I drive it... lol.. NOW, I want a BP, or even maybe a blow through on this one? LOL... here we go again...

PM sent, I asked where you were.. duh, I see it's Indy. Know anyone that would want 4 tickets to the Indy Grand Prix on the 17th? I have someone wanting to trade me 4 tickets...

Yeah, I probably want the 5 speed... get back with me.

Now try some of the hypermiler techniques and you'll get 45mpg.

Seriously, I wish the tree-huggers didn't close down our pick-and-pull or I could get this lady to sell the 50K 323 she's been holding on to till "gas prices get bad", maybe she's waiting for $5/gallon but it's been a couple years
