I went and made the deal. The LX interior is immaculate. It has 116,000 miles on it. One owner. It has the original receipt, window sticker, owners manual, new tires, new battery, factory tach, 5 speed, shift boot/storage console, door pockets, tilt steering, CARGO COVER, power mirrors. I forgot to look to see if it had the under seat storage tray (doubt it). This car is a rarity because it was An LX w/o AC??? No factory alloys either. The fire smoked the vaccum hoses and the carb. My buddy with the festar has a carbed car and it has the parts I need to get it going. I pick it up tuesday - pics soon. One more thing. It was made 9/87 it has to be one of the oldest festivas period.
I am trying to decide what to do. I'm sure this will be weird to some here, but I think I will put all of the 88 LX upgrades on my 91 w/ AC. Then I will put L stuff back on the LX, get it running, sell it, and use the proceeds to get the legit title on my 91. I got the 91 L from a junkyard w/o a title. A lady here in town can get legit titles for cars. It costs $180, but you don't even have to go the DMV. She does it all. The other option is just to fix this LX and drive it. I'd rather not drive a carbed car, and I REALLY like AC. I'm still sitting on my 92 L. It has 230,000 miles on it. It needs a head gasket and it leaks oil badly. I REALLY REALLY want to use that car for a BP T swap.
Well I sealed the deal today. IT HAS THE ELUSIVE UNDER SEAT DRAWER!!! I about peed myself. I took it to my buddy's garage. I also took my 15th festiva to him. I gave him the 15th in exchange for the parts and service to fix the new one. I am psyched. Pics will come as soon as I bring it home.
Way too cool Paul , you are one of a few that have that option .

There is no replacement for displacement, except for the turbo in my basement.
