Finally found some time to hitup my 2 favorite junkyards... Arrived at Harry's U Pull it around 8 AM after an hour trip (plus stop for breakfast)... Went in and headed to the Ford section. I searched through all the rows looking for what I needed... and after all was said and done with, I scored pretty good!
There were 3 Festivas there, 2 of them I've seen before and about 3 Aspires. I scored:
- Bra for the hood
- A-pillar pieces from 89L along with a nice set of door trim pieces (that runs along the metal on the door) also took the hatch seal
- Aspire e-brake cable
- Decent looking center console (I later found another but it was in an ATX and the shifter was stuck in park/ unable to pull)
- 89L ebrake cover/ash tray - will mount when I remove the stock seat belts for a harness setup
- Nice set of clean visors
- 89 washer bottle
- a set of grab (oh crap) handles from an Escort
Went out to pay, put all my stuff on the table and she rang it upto $15... I asked, "Umm... you got all this stuff right?!" and she said, "Yup... $15", so I took it and paid and left... I got a great deal on the stuff, and I looked at my receipt to see that she didn't ring up the console, ebrake cable, etc... But, whatever... I asked if she was sure!
Headed down 30 miles to EZ Pull and Save outside of Orwigsburg and went in there... They had 3 Festivas that I found, but most everything was stripped out of them. I was able to pull a nice rear view mirror (mine has a crack in the casing) and some misc brackets and plugs...I found 2 other nice center consoles, but already had a decent one and didn't want to spend the $$ on others that I might not get the $$ back out of...
Overall... A great trip! I should be able to make my money back on selling just the bra that I picked up. The car that it was on was pretty clean, didn't even see that it was wrecked, so I'm not sure why it was in the yard...
Oh well... I've got a few more pieces added to the car and getting to look a little more "complete" inside.
