Whos put speakers in there doors?????

ok so i have no tunes in the festiva the wirring seems to be all bad so i was working yesterday on putting some speakers in the doors i bought a set of 5.25 but the magnate seems to big it hits the window so im going to need smaller ones. also how did you get the bolts to line up with the 3 tabs? should i just use sheet metal screw them in? i cut out the circle in the back of the panel its a rough cut i used a razor blazde but i the grill will hid emy crap cut. any help i would appreciate.

you make some sort of spacer so that the magnet would clear the window.

make new holes for the mounting tabs.

I think there are speaker spacers available. I might have seen them on Ebay

well the mounting tabs are raised in the door and the rest is all recsed, i was thinking of maybe making some kind of wooden donut but i dont have a router, heres the hard part ok try to picutre this.... they give you the speed clips which dont work because like there is a raised ring around the hole so thats a no go. so i was thining of puting the speed clit on the panel put the panel is just to flimsy. its hard to hold the speaker in place with the panel on and the grill on, the bolts that hold the grill on are also the bolts that screw it into the mounting surface. does that make sense? its one of those things you may have to see unless you have done it your self.

ok well they dont look raised i guess ill just try to tap my own holes and stop crying but i think im going to get a speaker with a smaller magnet

thanks brian i think im going to get new door panels i tore mine up pretty good and this time ill take my time. now to find a j yard with festivas! there getting rare around here and they wernt now that i need one i cant find any!
