  • Close call today

I was almost home and had a very close call with an unidentified stopped van. I am not sure what demension I was exiting when I noticed a stopped van in front of me. I hit the brakes and cut the wheel. Tires locked and I forgot to push in the clutch because of how fast everything was happening. I think if I would have let off and let the tires roll I could have steered out of it totally...but I ended up brushing the bumper of the van. Left about a 3" long red scuff on it and you can see in the pics the black scuff on my fender and the scuff on my bumper. I do not know about this guy. He was very nice about everything and said not to worry...he would just buff it out and not to even bother with the cops. Would not take any money or my name or anything. He did not come off as being someone that had anything to fear by having the police called either....just was happy no one was hurt and nothing bigger happened, could use more people like this in the world...although I would have liked to have paid to have his car buffed out......sorry this was so long.

yup...it was very lucky....no indentation or anything...I believe that little dent in the trim under the light was already there.

wow man glad everyone and everything is alright,

i had a similer experience. i took a wrong exit and while looking for the exit to get back onto the road i was on i seen this truck in front of me was stoped, i slammed the brakes and hit him, i hit his trailer hitch, and it bent my license plate around the bottom of the bumper, about all it did lol, he said "you got more damage than me it looks like" i looked at it and said, "its just my plate" and he goes "have a great day" shook hands and took off. man i could of got screwed so bad because of that. but it is all good right now

Glad to hear it worked out. Sometimes it just better to part ways with out calling the cops or insurance.

Then you would have matching cars, what a hard way to go about it though.
