my 78 chevy trucks master cylinder is losing fluid in the large part of the master cylinder and the brake pedal goes down to the floor slowly. which part of the master cylinder is to the front brakes and which is for the back brakes. i wonder if i have a wheel cylinder leaking?

If it's losing fluid, you got a leak somewhere (look for it and it should be obvious). If the pedal goes down but the fluid level stays the same then the seals in the master cylinder are shot. -
dave g i think your right i will have to get under it on the weekend. i woner if it is the wheel cylinder do i have to take the brake shoes off to replace it.Comment

just pump them alot and see if you can see any brake fluid leaks on the ground or on the wheels.
