The ultimate ECONOBOX? 1971 Honda n600

I found this on ebay and it is real close to me. I don't think I am up for a project this big but I think it would be sweet having a running one. These were the first Honda brought to the states and in rather small numbers. I think they may be the first hatchback introduced to America, I may be wrong.

Actually, like the Mini, the Honda 600 doesn't have a "hatch" like we think of it. It is instead a lifting trunk door that does not include the rear glass. Some Pintos were like this too.

Love the 600.

What I'm really wanting (Honda-wise) would be a '79 CVCC. Or just my old '81 1500DX, minus the problems.

The 600's engine has the same basic footprint as the Honda CBR 600 motorcycle engine. I was thinking if I got it I could turn it into a sweet Autocross/ sleeper car. I don't think I will get it though. I thought it would only go for like $400 but it is already up to like $800.

BUT, these cars usually sell for 2 to 3 grand in good shape, in this area. Not sure how good this one is, but I would expect it to over $1500 or so..

I would love to have one.

I like the 72 better, with the big rubber grommet around the rear glass..
