excuse me but what is a ground wire kit?

  • #2
It's a kit that grounds the engine better. Basically, you run a series of ground wires to various engine parts (MAF, tranny, intake manifold, etc) and it helps ground better. I believe it's been dyno tested for a small number (1 or 2) extra HP.

There's one on my BP, I think it just gets in the way.

what simon said, not a bad idea for a car like ours however that has a difficult time making power.

but cant you just make your own kit for about 1/4th the price?

(assuming you have basic electrical skills) lol

to understand this correctly, buy heavy wire and connect in parallel various parts of the negative battery to intake manifold, tranny, frame... example-- connect wires from:neg battery to tranny, neg battery to intake manifold bolt, neg battery to frame.. is this right?

i do have a question regarding ground wires though.

(just was out looking at my car) and noticed that the ground wire that goes to the top of the tranny is covered in oil and greese and crap, should i try to clean that off and run a tap down through the hole?

im going to try to get some work done on it tomorrow and that was on the list was to clean the engine bay/tranny off lol.
