damn shame a $60 factory manual won't tell you this stuff but anyway here's from the haynes manual. remove connector from ECT. with engine cold, ohms across the ECT prongs should be 2,000-3,000 Ohms. start car and warm up to operating temp. now the Ohms across the prongs should be 200-400 Ohms. if that checks out, turn ignition to on and check for a 5V reference voltage at the connector.
