  • ac charge

hey guys friday, im going to have my work evac my ac system so i can recharge it and add some oil to it,

how much freon (134a) do i need?

the reason im doing this is because it only gets good and COLD when im going over 45, so im thinking its time to do a complete recharge lol, cause i have been told that freon does lose its cooling ability after several years, but im going to need to add oil anyway to see if that stops the dang clicking from the compressor lol.

    thanks guys.

There should be a sticker under your hood that tells you how much refridgerant you need.

Sounds like your compressor is going bad, freon should last forever.

My F-150 has never been recharged and it is a 93, it is still ice cold. I have never heard of freon losing its cooling ability before.
