This morning the Festiva drove weird. Normally, when cold, it lurches a few times when I start off, but now the thing lurches in every gear up to about 2500 RPMs. I'll stall out unless I punch the gas and let up the clutch slow. The engine will bog down, I'll push in the clutch, and repeat the whole process until the car will move without stalling. When it's moving the thing lurches back and forth, even squealing the tires once or twice. It seems to lack power. After driving for a few minutes the lurching died down but didn't completely go away. I had a similar problem last time it rained; the ignition coil was shorting out on the tachometer terminal. But it drove normal the next day, and I replaced the wire.
Today it doesn't appear to be shorting out and it hasn't rained, yet the lurching is present.
Any ideas??????
Regards,
Tim
