hey guys how much of lucas oil stabilizer should you put in our motors?

i put 3/4 of a bottle (not meaning to) and im getting valve tick, i think im going to drain a little bit of oil, not all but like half a quart or a quart or so, and refill to try to thin it out a little more, do you think this will work?

      http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/images/lucas/lucas.htm

Perhaps you should just leave it out?
and i left it out, acutally acidentlly dropped the oil plug into my drain pan so had to refill it, owell i got penzoil 10/40 in it now and it sounds better, but i need to get that run out of my lifters (what i drained thats left)

Personally I never use 10w40 in anything , Not sure , I can't remember the whole story "CRS " but I remember from the dealership , they said do not use 10/40 in the cars ??

I always use 10W30 penz in everything , except 5W50 Syntec full synthetic in my truck .

ive had 10/40 in my car before, first time i changed the oil and it was fine, 2nd time i changed it, i accidently grabbed 5/30, and this is my 3rd, well 4th, (2 in 2 days lol) and what i found out today about the oil at work (jiffy lube) i didnt like,

ALL the oil, even the conventional is a synthetic blend.

now they said (in the computer training) that you can switch to a syn-blend, to conv, to full syn, any time you want,

i call bull crap on that, lol. and i hate telling customers that but if i want to keep my job i have to. so im no longer getting any oil from there.

                  Warlock,

You realize that a synthetic blend can by law contain as little as 5% synthetic!
At even twice that level the difference between full dino and the synthetic blend
would likely be undetectable by you or your engine!

I just ran across somewhere, that synthetic were reformulated to prevent the
problem of the synthetics leaking past old seals sometime ago!

So start saving that synthetic blend for me, I can send you empty 5 gal or 5Qt containers to fill up!

acutally all our oils are 70% synthetic and 30% dino. i read that post and is pretty informative, i will go down to a 10/30 on next change, (main reason i put 10/40 in is because i had to send my dad to go get some for me since i dropped the plug in the drain pan) and by the time i got it it all drained out, and it was black, o well it got a good flushing, but it looked awful thin, thats another reason im not getting oil from there, because i looked at my quart that i filled up because im burning it, and it looks a little runny, which is my main concern, thought i said that as well but i didnt, lol am tired and was dirty with sweat and greese/oil from work and had to come home to do this lol.

hey darkdan, what do you know about that lucas stuff??? because from what im seeing on bobtheoilguy site im regretting putting that in my engine.

^^ I used to use 10w whatever...I am now only going to use 5w or 15w or higher as per the darkdan discussion. Read the part about 10w oils...no more for me.
