  • A/c belt replacment.

My dad's 92 ford festiva L threw the a/c belt.... How hard is it going to be to replace and what are the steps for doing so. It's so hot here in Ohio right now I hate to see him go without a/c... So any help would be great.

    Thank you in advance!!

my 93 has ac and if a recalled right it was the first belt to replace before getting to the alternator belt. bettefr than having to remove 2 belts if i recalled right.

it actually is pretty simple. first take out the air intake tube and remove the whole intake box. this is necessary to get to the tensioner and the a/c belt. then loosen the bolt where the bearing is at the top-most pulley (the tensioner). then undo the top smaller nut to lower the tensioner and release the tension. take note how tight the tension of the belt is before you replace it. when you replace the belt, check that tensioner bearing or even replace if any sign of wear.
