  • Dome light

Well, since I've had my festiva my domelight has never worked. So today, I decided to find out just wherein the problem lies!

So, as I've found out so far, it's not the switch, and it wasn't the plug that connects to the switch. There's no power going to the wires apparently!

Any ideas as to solve this problem 'ere?

Check the switch in the door jam. I found mine wasn't making contact and the light would not work.

Well, the buzzer works though, is that the one you mean? Or is there another switch there for the domelight specifically?

I spray mine with some WD-40 or PB Blaster and wiggle it a bit and push it in and out to clean the contacts .

The door jam switch is just the ground for the dome light circuit. Test your ground by clipping one end of a wire to the wire going to the door jam switch and touch the other end of the wire to a sure ground and see if your dome light comes on. If it does you have a bad ground and will need to take the two screws out and pull and clean the contacts and the switch its self. Festivas are prone to this and its a simple fix.

Actually the door jam switch is fine, but either way it seems like there is no power going to the dome light. Do you know exactly where the wires are routed to?

I had the exact same problem myself.

There is a single wire connector under the dash, by the ECU, that supplies 12v to the dome light. Mine was unplugged for some weird reason.

Maybe yours either became corroded or unplugged.

Just fixed mine this afternoon, was a combination of bulb, fuse and door contact grounding. Tightened down the wire to the contact, brushed down the area a little bit, and I have a dome light now for the first time since I bought the car.

Just have to get my brake lights properly going now..
