I am a new festiva owner. I have an 88'. I love it. Its my project. However the carb isn't receiving any fuel. So the car will not stay running. It turns over then stops after about 10 seconds. Recently i replaced the Fuel Pump and Fuel Filter. Im thinking maybe clogged lines? Any input would be great!

did you notice any rust in the old filter, you can test the fuel flow, pull off the hose going to carb from pump add a lenth of hose to pump going into container, and watch for strong fuel pulse...while cranking.previous cars to fix up;
86 300ZX
85 RX7 GSL
88 Corolla FX

if you noticed any rust or dirt in the old filter and pump, you probably also have dirt/rust at the brass filter on the carb (right at the fuel inlet), clean or replace...Trees aren't kind to me...

I have had this problem before and did the same thing as you. Replaced external engine mounted fuel pump and filter andeven went as far as having the carb rebuilt, STILL had problems with fuel delivery. 25Horseplay is correct. I discovered a tiny hole in the fuel line in my 88 festiva above the fuel tank and hidden, and ran a new line from the output all the way to the fuel pump and viola' it was fixed. This car runs awesome with 193k mi on it.Current cars:

2007 Hyundai Tiburon
