  • Radiator fan dead...

I don't know why exactly it's dead, but it's either rusted to hell somewhere and/or the motor is burnt (it's super hard to turn it even by hand). And yes, the fuse is also burnt.

So what should I do and what fan do you suggest (also where could I get it)? Unfortunately, the bolts the fan is bolted with to the radiator also kind of don't exist because of rust so I'll have to cut off or something the current fan...

The fan motor should not be hard to turn , that is what most likely overloaded the wiring and popped the fuse .

Make a post in the wanted thread , using proper codes [WTB] .

Post that you are looking for a fan motor , there is prolly someone close to you that has one .

That's funny. I haven't seen one of those on Ebay for a long time now. I saw it the other day and look, someone actually is asking for one which is something I haven'e heard of for a long while. Must be listed just for denious. It is new, even better. Go For It.

Hey Brian....I pulled one out of the yard that looked almost brand new from an aspire that looked exactly like that, but it did not fit in my fan shroud. This was in my 92 B6 5 spd.

mine is like that too. i wouldn't be too worried, you got awhile to replace it since winter is coming.
With mine if i hoze it with wd40 i can just barley make it spin, but it squeals like a dieing rabbit.

Yeah, you shouldn't need it much in Canada, even in the summer. Mine doesn't come on more than a couple times/year.

Unfortunately they don't ship to Canada, but I received a PM of one for sale, I'll look into it...

Then it's either Montreal 5pm traffic that kills my Festy or something's already wrong with the engine if the P.O overheat it... I get to 4/5 after 20 minutes in traffic... On the highway and on normal roads it's all fine for now, even though it also overheat once before even on a normal road with not too much traffic, but it was hot like in hell outside.

I have one of the torque flows from autozone for 70 bucks....alot more compact in design. Plus i think it flows more air, I'm gonna get another one later on.
