  • Rear Spoiler Question.

Just wondering if anyone knows if the hatch spoiler is hollow or not. If not, any idea how it's constructed.

I'd smash mine open to find out, but that would defeat the purpose.

It sounds hollow if you knock on it. And it is very light in weight. I bet it is hollow.

Hollow enough to run some wires through? I'll have to take it apart tonight to find out.

it's completely hollow. I think I am gonna take mine and add some moulding foam and fiberglass to make it unique.

Are you mounting a high mount brake light?, I have thought about doing that.

There is an orange festiva running around town that has an LED brakelight in the spoiler. It looks factory i have no clue where he got it. ive never talked to him though.

Get a pic of it , if you can

I have wanted to do this also , drill holes and recess the little LED's in a row in the spoiler edge .

I thought about cutting a small section out and recessing a whole cluster , I just do not want to damage my spoiler , I wanted one for too long

i will try, i know where the car is often parked. It really looks like something from overseas, because the lens was curved with the spoiler and everything. It looked really sharp.

yea, it looks like the car had been fixed up at one point, paint.. and its a colleague of different parts.. 88/89 tails, 90LX mirrors and seats, that spoiler... cant remember the rest. But now it must have changed hands cause its a mess.
