  • Shudder when driving

My 89 L 4 speed carb is running better with the new carb. But I still have a slight shudder/jerking when accelerating. Its like you are tapping the gas pedal lightly and rapidly. I am thinking the distributor might be bad, that the advance isn't working right. Any thoughts on this??

more likely your off idle compensation tube is clogged (it's in the carb) run some carb cleaner through your bowl.

i had an EFI car shudder on me under acceleration and it turns out it was a bad spark plug

may not be your problem, but it's worth a look

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

I used carb cleaner.. and changed my plugs. The studdering.. was lowered.. but it still does it... just not as bad. Do you think the carb should be pulled.. and cleaned by hand?
