tranny from another car

i have been looking around on this forum and i cannot find any information about what manual transmissions are swappable with the stock engine...i posted this under repair help cause i don't need an upgrade i just need to know what car i can take the transmission out of for the stock engine.......i was thinking maybe something out of an espire? also if anyone has an old transmission they want to get rid of or want to sell i would be willing to buy it...unfortunately there are no junk yards in my state that have festivas

the Festiva and Aspire transmissions are *almost* identical. There may be a small amount of fabbing, or possibly just swapping to get it mounted. I've looked at the Aspire version a time or two thinking about picking one up, and I couldn't see any differences with a quick look-see.

The 4-speed and 5-speed Festiva transmissions are identical, if that helps.
