  • oil burning question

    93 FI with 247k miles. if you let it idle for a while, say in a drive-thru or something, and you rev it after a few minutes you get this puff of blue smoke. anyone had this problem before? i dont really want to tear into the engine other than to replace the valve seals.
    1993 5 speed FI. 2-5/8" tach, short throw, muffler delete. SOLD
    1993 5 speed FI. A/C! muffler delete, 2-5/8" tach, 5% tint, 14" alum. wheels, JVC head unit, 2 MTX 10" subwoofers. 195K

      Its very common for higher mileage engines to do this aside from a bench rebuild its pretty unstoppable

        oh okay well maybe ill rebuild it one day! i only paid $200 for the car thats why i dont really want to spend that much on it. but im gonna run it till it wont run any more! then b6t

            bad valve stem seals will cause it to do that.they will also smoke sometimes on start up after sitting all night. my 88 festiva, 91 s-10 and 60 willys pick up all do it. still only have to add a quart of oil about every 1400 to 1500 miles. the festiva has 190,000 miles on it.
