I would bet around 220-250lbs I was able to lift my B3 by myself for short distances... -Kyle

damn i can't imagine what it'd be like w/ an aluminum block, crazy...

speaking of weight, has anyone heard anything about the fiberglass rear hatch that was supposedly in the works at FMS?

Yeah, like the carbon fiber hood they were going to offer. I called yesterday, and they said they were no longer going to make them. Sucks.

thanks for the input on the engine weight. i was just wondering cause im looking to swap a crate 302cid into it along with some other obvious mods such as a rear end and a trans etc. does anyone know if this has been done or similar.

I can't find the particular page on my notes CD, but I think it's in the neighborhood of 230 lbs. That's probably with clothes on.

302s are one the better engine choices for a V-8 Festiva, compact, good weight w/aluminum heads ( which you should be using ), excellent aftermarket support.

I haven't seen anything online showing proof of a finished a 5.0L Festiva, or actually someone making the effort on building one. Just talk, a lot of it . Being the 5.0L is one of the universal V-8 swaps into anything, it seems we would have seen one by now in a Festiva.

Only 2 V-8 Festivas I know of so far :

                          351-W Ford in Festiva

And a 520 Ford in Festiva; my car I'm building; albeit at a turtle's pace. Link is in my sig.

thanks for the pics of the 351 festiva. it just made me want to put the 302 in it even more. good luck with that 520 in yours. sounds like it gonna be a beast. after all there's no replacement for displacement.
