  • Heater fan question

Can someone tell me the difference (if there is one) between the heater blower motors for a Festiva without air conditioning and a Festiva with?

    Thanks

The blowing case core always be same in A/C or non A/C but only you will need remove the plastic black duct and black rib cage and put your A/C core box evaporator in there and using metal silver or black bracket to connect the fan blowing.

      heater fan

there are different part#s for the festiva with integral A/C and without. my guess is that the A/C fan pushes more CFM. i don't know if this is due to a higher RPM of the motor or a difference in the blower wheel (diam./ # of blades). if you were to order the ford part, it comes with the matching wheel attached. interestingly the blower housing also has different part#s for a car with A/C and without. if your question pertains to fitting the "high-performance" blower motor/wheel to a non- A/C car, i believe i did this years ago without encountering any problems.

^^ I'm going the other way... installing A/C in a non A/C car over the winter. I have to replace the blower motor tonight because it stopped blowing and it's starting to cool off a little.

        Thanks for the input.

Uhmm, I never knew there two type of blowing and maybe I should count the fan blades and compare the parts number, and etc...

I am not positive on Festivas , I have never had a A/C Festy .

But any GM car I have ever seen , the A/C car has a extra speed .

            Say a non A/C car has 3 speeds , a A/C car has 4 speeds .

I see no problem with what you are applying
