It turns over just fine. The battery and alternator are both good. I've replaced the distributor too just in case that was it, but it didn't help any either. So now I have an extra distributor.
Where am I, and what am I doing in this handbasket??

Maybe you have a short or a pinched wire somewhere.

I'm just going to beat it to death with a sledge hammer.

I replaced the VAF still nothing. I can't find any pinched wires, frayed wires, disconnected wires, gas line leaks, vacuum leaks, nothing. The sledge hammer is the only solution I can think of any more.

Are you free Weds-Sun? My car sort of works now and I can drive over to Deer Park and take a look at it some time.

if you getting fuel up to the rail now maybe you should be looking at the injectors?
i had a intermittent fuel problem and it turned out to be in the injectors. i just removed them and cleaned them with carb cleaner.

I don't get fuel up to the rail. I can get it to spew fuel when I use a jumper wire, but other than that it only gives me fuel when it feels like it...which is maybe once or twice a month. I've had a couple of people mention injectors. I may just take them off and clean them just in case. The car did sit for about 2 years before I bought it. I can completely relate to anomoly40's avatar.

I know this may sound crazy but it's worth a try. Use something to hold open the VAF door then check to see if the fuel pump works. You can also take the other VAF you have and plug it in and test it this way.

Motoxpress, I'll give it a try. At this point, if dancing naked on the hood would make it run I'd be stipping right now.

I already sent a PM concerning the distributor, some time ago!
But would be interested in the hood dancing too!
