  • valve tick

ive got a noticeable ticking coming mostly from the drivers side of my engine.

this is the hydraulic adjustors, right?

is it easily fixed, and if so how do i fix it?

and will it do any damage

when mine starts getting real bad is about when its time to change the oil. If that doesnt work buy a pair of ear muffs.

i hear Auto Rx works well for fixing this issue.... you can also try seafoam and a high detergent oil next oil change. what's happening is the lash adjusters are gummed up and not able to pump up, so the gum has to be removed.

would disassembly & a good cleaning be the answer? how big of a job is it to disassemble? can it be done with the head on the block? i dont mind doing the work, i just need to know how

pull the valve cover and remove the rocker arm rods CAREFULY!!! a little at a time. then get to a parts washer and have fun. i'd still use a HD oil and seafoam for the next few changes to remove whats still in the block.
